Immigration policy

NEW ORLEANS — The Fifth Circuit denied the government's request for a stay pending appeal of a court order reinstating the Migrant Protection Protocols policy, also known as the Remain in Mexico policy, implemented by former President Donald Trump in 2018. The government failed to show that it would be irreparably harmed during the appeal process and gave no reason that it could not comply with the lower court's order.
