WEST PALM BEACH (CN) - A Florida appeals courtoverturned a lower court's finding that a17-year-oldwas tooimmature to get a judicial waiver of parental consent for an abortionbecause she had not spoken to medical experts.
Although consulting with medical experts shows maturity, it is "only one factor among many" in the analysis of her petition, the ruling states. The court noted thatthe plaintiff gets good grades, has a full-time job and is in a committed relationship with a man she intends to marry. See ruling.
