Illegal Voting Conviction

A Texas appeals court upheld the illegal-voting conviction of Crystal Mason, who was sentenced to serve five years in prison. Mason, who was on supervised release from a 2012 felony federal tax fraud conviction when she voted in 2016, maintains she did not know she was ineligible to vote and would not have voted if she knew she could get in trouble for doing so.
