Ill. Court Waxes Poetic |In Defamation Ruling

ELGIN, Ill. (CN) - Justice John Bowman used poetry to reverse a $2.35 million judgment fora construction company that filed a defamation claim after a carpenter's union distributed a limerick callingits homes "crappy."He wrote: "There once was a union that called plaintiffs' work crappy; this made plaintiffs quite unhappy; at trial, the jury filled plaintiffs' purse; but, alas, on appeal, we must reverse."
