‘Ideological Corporation’ Sues The FEC

RALEIGH, N.C. (CN) - A group led by the former chief of staff to the chairman of the state Republican Party claims it is not a political action committee and so should not have to follow FEC regulations in its "issue advocacy" ads that slam Barack Obama for his view on abortion. The Committee for Truth in Politics, which describes itself as an "ideological corporation," claims the FEC's definition of PACs is unconstitutionally vague.

The anti-abortion ad at issue asks viewers to "Call Sen. Obama. Tell him to stop trying to overturn these basic human rights."
