EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. (CN) - An identity thief who bought his victim's information online was sentenced to 7 years in federal prison. Jason David Lingo, 29, bought 131 credit card numbers and related information in 2007 from online fraud and fast cash forums.
Prosecutors say Lingo used the information to buy items he then sold or pawned. Lingo will also have to repay $3,600.
Lingo pleaded guilty in April to possession of unauthorized access devices, mail fraud and aggravated identity theft charges. He skipped the sentencing hearing twice.
