Humane Society Wants Info On Egg Board

WASHINGTON (CN) - The Humane Society demands that the U.S. Department of Agriculture turn over records on the American Egg Board. The Egg Board allegedly voted last year to set aside $3 million to help California egg producers fight an animal welfare ballot initiative. The Humane Society says it is illegal for the Egg Board to spend federal money "for the purpose of influencing governmental policy or action."
