HUD Faces Another Katrina Housing Case

WASHINGTON (CN) - The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development plans, illegally, to demolish more than 4,000 damaged but reparable low-income housing units in New Orleans, and replace them with fewer than one-third as many units, which only 10 percent of the occupants could afford to live in, the St. Bernard Housing Recovery & Development Corp. claims in Federal Court.
