HOUSTON (CN) - Two Houston County sheriff's deputies were indicted last week by the U.S. Attorney's Office on charges of conspiracy, civil rights violations and assault with a firearm on federal land for allegedly assaulting an unnamed Crockett resident.
Deputies Henry Gresham Jr., 50, and Charles Clark, 63, have been accused of verbally and physically assaulting the man at his house on July 11, 2008, driving him to the Davy Crockett National Forest, Tasering him during the ride and abandoning him in the forest after pistol whipping, kicking and beating him, according to the indictment.
Gresham and Clark are due for arraignment on March 20, 2009 in Lufkin, Texas.
