House Intelligence Panel Interviewing Russia-Born Executive

WASHINGTON (AP) — A Russia-born business executive who worked with President Donald Trump's associates on an effort to build a skyscraper in Moscow is on Capitol Hill Tuesday talking to congressional investigators.

Felix Sater is talking to staff on the House intelligence committee as part of the panel's investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 election. The panel's chairman, California Rep. Adam Schiff, subpoenaed Sater last month after he didn't show up for a scheduled interview.

The panel is investigating contacts between Russia and the Trump campaign detailed in special counsel Robert Mueller's report.

Sater worked with Trump's former personal lawyer, Michael Cohen, on the skyscraper deal before the 2016 election. The project was later abandoned, and Cohen is now in prison, partly on charges that he lied to Congress about the project.
