Hostility To Wal-Mart Brings $25M Claim

PORTLAND, ORE. (CN) - The City of Portland screwed up Thunderbird Hotels' $25 million sale to Wal-Mart by putting a moratorium on development on Hayden Island, Thunderbird claims in Multnomah County Court. It also sued City Commissioner Sam Adams, who led the drive to block the Wal-Mart, saying it "fails the basic test of ethical capitalism."
