Horton Hears A Class-Action Antitrust Suit

LOS ANGELES (CN) - A class-action antitrust claim accuses D.R. Horton and Western Pacific Housing of illegally forcing or deceiving homebuyers into financing their houses through DHI Mortgage Co., at uncompetitive prices. Plaintiffs in Federal Court say Horton "is the largest homebuilding company in the United States, based on homes closed during the 12 months ended Sept. 30, 2007 ... 41,370 homes with an average closing price of approximately $259,200."
