Homophobic Prof Harassed Him, Student Says

PITTSBURGH (CN) - A community college instructor harassed a student in front of the class with homophobic remarks, including showing the class a photo of the student's car and saying, "When a rainbow sticker just isn't enough," the student claims in Federal Court.

Glenn Eaton, an instructor at Community College of Beaver County's Air Traffic Control School, harassed him openly, Andrew Pfeiffer says. He claims Eaton routinely stopped his lessons to direct homophobic remarks at him, and once went as far as to show a picture of Pfeiffer's car to the class and commented, "when a rainbow sticker just isn't enough."

Pfeiffer also claims Eaton gave him a lower grade than students Eaton believes to be straight. He says the college did nothing to stop Eaton's discrimination when Pfeiffer complained about it.

Pfeiffer claims the discrimination and breach of contract caused the college to deny him the opportunity to sit for the Advanced Standing for Aeronautical Knowledge test, delaying his graduation.

Pfeiffer seeks punitive damages. He is represented by Joel Sansone.
