Homeowners Get Bank’s Attention

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (CN) - Real-estate attorneys in New England say banks seldom, if ever, record mortgage releases on time. Perhaps this will get banks' attention. A couple who claim Washington Mutual took 6 months, rather than the statutory 60 days, to send the release, demands $3,200 - $200 for each week late.

Lisa Ann and Christopher Tilson claim that Connecticut law entitles them to the $200 per week. They also demand punitive damages. They are represented in Superior Court by James Winkel with Harlow, Adams & Friedman of Milford, Ct.
