NEW ORLEANS (CN) - The Department of Homeland Security and FEMA took over a man's property after Hurricane Katrina and built a prison on it, and have refused to pay their $10,000 monthly rent since June 2007, says the man, who wants FEMA evicted, plus his back rent.
Wayne Ducote sued DHS and FEMA in Federal Court. He says they took over his four parcels of land next to Orleans Parish Prison, built structures on it, and now, besides being deadbeat tenants, refuse to leave. He is represented by Gladstone Jones with Jones, Swanson, Huddell & Garrison.
