Home Equity ‘Loan’ Called Elder Abuse

PLACERVILLE, CALIF. (CN) - An old man says Homecomings Financial defrauded him and committed financial elder abuse. Wayne Hartley says in Placer County Court that Homecomings told him it gave him $39,814 in credit on a $44,500 home equity loan, then bounced all the checks he wrote on the account, claiming the loan never had been granted, but still demands $141 a month to pay off the loan.
