(CN) — Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton won primaries in Washington state Tuesday night, but little changed as the candidates continued to focus on the general election in November.
Trump's win brings him to within 28 delegates of the 1,237 needed to clinch the Republican nomination for president. However, the Democratic race was an empty affair no delegates were at stake because Washington Democrats already awarded their delegates based on party caucuses held in March.
Sen. Bernie Sanders won those caucuses in March, receiving national convention based on the primary results.
Trump won at least 40 delegates on Tuesday; four have yet to be allocated.
