Historical societies

HARTFORD, Conn. — An appeals court in Connecticut ruled a historical society lacked standing to pursue a quiet title action against the First Congregational Church of Lebanon and cannot impose conservation and preservation restrictions on it. The society holds such restrictions on 95% of the Lebanon Town Green, where the church, which was established in 1700, is located.
