INDEPENDENCE, MO. (CN) - The High Tech Institute defrauds students by falsely claiming it is accredited and promising an education and services it knows it does not deliver, 13 students claim in Jackson County Court.
The students say High Tech, of Kansas City, Mo., falsely claimed it was accredited, falsely claimed credits earned there could be transferred to "a vast number of other institutions," falsely promised an adequate education, falsely promised that its instructors were experienced and qualified, and falsely claimed: that it would place students in externship programs, that it would provide them with small classes, that it provided job placement services, that graduates "would be eligible to take 'nationally recognized' certification tests, and that its graduates are "sought after" as employees in their fields.
