High-speed pursuit

PHILADELPHIA — A federal court in Pennsylvania granted summary judgment to a borough whose police officers pursued a suspect in a high-speed car chase, during which the suspect struck another vehicle, killing one passenger and inflicting a serious brain injury on another. The officers did not intend to harm the passengers while pursuing the fleeing car, so they are entitled to summary judgment.
