SAN DIEGO (CN) - A high school principal claims conservative talk show host Steve Yuhas defamed him on KOGO-AM radio by accusing him of running a gay pornography magazine while on the clock at Mark Twain High School. Michael Rood claims Yuhas called him "a perverted principal," who was "associate publisher of a gay pornographic magazine ... trying to sell ad space in a gay newspaper" from his school office. None of it is true, Rood says.
Rood demands punitive damages from Yuhas, KOGO and Clean Channel Communications.
Yuhas allegedly made the defamatory statements, which are quoted at length in this 27-page Superior Court complaint, during his Dec. 28 and Dec. 30, 2007 broadcasts.
Rood says he demanded that Yuhas and KOGO retract the statements, and they refused.
