Hide the Money

MANHATTAN (CN) - Gian Gisler, a former UBS banker and an independent financial adviser, conspired to hide more than $215 million for clients in Swiss banks, federal prosecutors say.

Gisler, 45, of Zurich, fled the United States to Switzerland in 2008 when he learned that UBS was being investigated, and continued to hide money for clients in Swiss banks, according to the federal complaint.

If convicted, Gisler faces up to 5 years in prison and fines of twice the gross gain or loss.
