REDDING, CALIF. (CN) - WPX Courier claims its contract truck driver, Richard Franks, tried to extort money from it by threatening to withhold delivery of packages, that he carried out the threat, that he refused to deliver to customers "who refused to acquiesce to his threats," that "Franks openly admits that representatives of the California Labor Commissioner aided and abetted him in his efforts to extort money from plaintiffs," and that "Franks also admits that he has conspired with others ... to implement copy-cat extortion schemes of their own".
