Hey, That’s Me! Woman Tells Hallmark

PHILADELPHIA (CN) - A 77-year-old woman says Hallmark Cards and American Greetings sell greeting cards featuring photos taken of her in 1935, without her permission and without paying her. Patricia Belger claims Getty Images also sells her image without her permission or payment.

Belger says in state court that she was unaware of the unauthorized uses of her image until she brought in photos from her youth as part of a contest at the insurance office where she works. She says her co-workers thought she was joking, and told her they thought she had got one of her photos from a Hallmark card. Then a co-worker showed her the Hallmark card. She demands an injunction and punitive damages.
