Helpful Nurse May Be Liable For Child’s Injury

ALBANY, N.Y. (CN) - In a reverse good-Samaritan ruling, a New York appellate division held that a school nurse who dropped a 10-year-old while helping her to the emergency room may be liable for the child's injured ankle. Once the nurse volunteered for an act that was not her legal duty, the court said she undertook the liability for any negligence that may have occurred.
