Harsh discipline

ST. LOUIS — The Eighth Circuit upheld an award of $4.9 million in fees and expenses granted to attorneys who represented former students of the Boys State Training School in Eldora, Iowa, who sued the school over its harsh discipline tactics. A federal judge ruled last year compared the methods to torture.
