Harris School of Business Accused of Cheating Students

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (CN) - The Harris School of Business defrauds students by falsely claiming to offered certified programs for medical assistants, six students claim in Atlantic County Court.

They claim the school in Linwood, N.J., is not accredited, nor are any of its affiliates, though they claim to be "fully accredited" in their Internet ads. Plaintiffs say the true certifying boards rejected their applications to take the Certified Medical Assistants Examination because of the defendants' fraud. Defendants include Harris' corporate parent, the Premier Education Group, which runs campuses in Cherry Hill and Trenton, N.J., and Wilmington, Dell. Premier allegedly "went on a buying spree" and bought other business schools, including The Salter School, which operates out of Fall River, Malden, Tewksbury and West Boylston, Mass.; Seacoast Career Schools of Manchester, N.H., and Sanford, Maine; and Suburban Technical School in Hempstead, N.Y.
