Gym Has Peeping Tom, Female Bodybuilder Says

CHICAGO (CN) - A female bodybuilder says she lost her edge at competitions after a health-club employee secretly watched her undress inside a tanning booth through a hole in the ceiling.

Amalia Reyes sued XSport Fitness in Cook County Court for invasion of privacy. She claims the club's head engineer, Stoil Stove, spied on her on Oct. 20, 2008 as she prepared for a tanning session. He allegedly had access to an adjacent office and ladder.

As a competitive bodybuilder, Reyes says she has worked out 25 hours a week for the last 10 years, including regular tanning sessions.

She claims that the spying incident has led to "decreased levels of performance at body building competitions," and the "psychological inability to maintain her previous workout and tanning regime."

Reyes seeks more than $30,000 and is represented by Steven Sigmond.
