Gun Permits

A federal court in California ruled in favor of a man seeking to inherit two guns who was told he couldn’t because he was “certified” for residential treatment as a teenager after using psychedelic mushrooms and marijuana for several days. The guns include his grandfather’s World War II sidearm — an Ithaca 1911, .45 caliber —  and a Winchester 1894, .30 caliber hunting rifle made in 1906. The man was never “committed” to a treatment institution and is entitled to receive his permit for the two guns.
