Guardianship constitutionality

ALBANY, N.Y. — Four people with intellectual or developmental disabilities say New York's Surrogate’s Court Procedure Act violates their civil rights by putting them under guardianships that deprive them of making everyday decision like where to live or work, and whether to marry or have kids. The plaintiffs, which also include a disability rights group, want these guardianships declared unconstitutional.
