Groups Oppose Ariz. Cuts in Disability Services

PHOENIX (CN) - The Arizona Legislature mandated "massive cuts" in essential services for disabled children and adults in violation of federal and state law, service providers claim in Maricopa County Court. They say Senate Bill 1001 was "hurried, ill-considered, effectively shut out the public from the process, and provided the executive branch with no guidance, specifics, or designation of legislative priorities."

Plaintiffs are the Arizona Association of Providers for Persons With Disabilities, the Reeves Foundation, ABRiO Family Services and Supports, Family Partners, Metro Care Services and two individual legal guardians. They are represented by John Dacey with Gammage & Burnham.
