Green Light Law

A federal court in New York dismissed a county clerk’s claims that the state’s “Green Light Law” is unconstitutional. The law allows undocumented immigrants to obtain driver’s licenses.

ERIE COUNTY, N.Y. – A federal court in New York dismissed a county clerk’s claims that the state’s “Green Light Law” is unconstitutional. The law allows undocumented immigrants to obtain driver’s licenses.

The court ruled that there is no “plausible scenario” in which the clerk would be criminally liable for processing the application of a person who is illegally in the U.S.
