Grasslands Could Help Climate Change

WASHINGTON (CN) - The U.S. Department of Agriculture seeks public comment on how the Grassland Reserve Program might "contribute to the nation's efforts on energy, climate change, and carbon sequestration."

A Jan. 21 Commodity Credit Corporation rule incorporating program changes authorized by the Food, Conservation, and Energy Act of 2008 had an incorrect Regulation Identification Number. In addition to correcting that number, the USDA's CCC has also clarified "the nature of the contingent right of enforcement," expanded its discussion regarding policy for wind and solar power facilities, and asked how the program could be used regarding the three government efforts.
