Grant Conditions

The Department of Justice must release to the city of Albuquerque a grant award for a Crime Gun Intelligence Center Integration Initiative, a federal court in New Mexico ruled. The city, which has affirmed its status as an “Immigrant Friendly City,” says the department improperly tried to impose immigration-related conditions on the award.

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The Department of Justice must release to the city of Albuquerque a grant award for a Crime Gun Intelligence Center Integration Initiative, a federal court in New Mexico ruled. The city, which has affirmed its status as an “Immigrant Friendly City,” says the department improperly tried to impose immigration-related conditions on the award.
