WASHINGTON — With 29 Republicans on board and no Democrat against, the House overrode a pay freeze imposed by President Donald Trump to approve a 2.6 pay raise Wednesday for civilian federal employees.

The bill’s prospects are unclear now as it heads to the Senate, where a 1.9 percent raise for civilian employees was derailed amid the border-wall standoff.
