Winnfield, La., Police illegally killed a man by shooting him repeatedly with a Taser, the man's mom claims in Alexandria Federal Court. The family of a man killed in another fatal Tasering sued the Franklin County Sheriff's Office in a similar claim in Franklin County Court, Columbus, Ohio.

George Lardner, who has a contract to write a book about the history of presidential pardons, sued the U.S. Department of Justice for records of the Office of the Pardon Attorney, in a FOIA complaint in DC Federal Court.
