SAN FRANCISCO - A former California Republican Party official who lobbied Congress as a member of Grover Norquist's anti-tax group Americans for Tax Reform had no valid visa or work permit during his years of work for Norquist and the California GOP, the San Francisco Chronicle reported today, citing court documents.
Michael Kamburowski, of Australia, quit his job as COO of the California Republican Party in June 2007 after the Chronicle reported that he had sued the federal officials who arrested and tried to deport him in 2004, the newspaper said.
