GOP Ends Filibuster of 7th Circuit Nominee

WASHINGTON (CN) - The U.S. Senate voted Tuesday to end a Republican filibuster and move along the nomination of U.S. District Judge David Hamilton to the 7th Circuit. Ten Republicans crossed the aisle to make the 70-29 vote.

Conservative Republicans were critical of Hamilton's rulings, which allowed a pornographic video store to operate near a church and barred the Indiana Legislature from kicking off its sessions with Christian prayers.
