GOP Committeewoman Claims| Chairman Is Muzzling Her

PHILADELPHIA (CN) - A committeewoman claims the Republican Committee of Lancaster County and its Chairman David Dumeyer are unconstitutionally muzzling her criticism of GOP judicial candidates who do not support "traditional values."

Millie Max claims Dumeyer demanded she resign from the GOP Committee or stop criticizing the candidates it endorsed. Max claims she cannot support two GOP-endorsed candidates for the Lancaster County Court of Common Pleas because one of them, as an attorney, "had defended individuals accused of child molestation," and the other "had allegedly committed marital adultery." She wants the Committee and Dumeyer and his successors enjoined from chilling the speech of committee members, plus costs and attorney's fees. She is represented in Federal Court by Paul Rossi of Mountville, Pa. See complaint.
