Gloria Allred Gets a Second Shot at Cosby

LOS ANGELES (CN) - A judge on Tuesday ordered Bill Cosby to appear for a second deposition in the civil lawsuit from a woman who says Cosby sexually assaulted her when she was a teenager.

Judy Huth sued Cosby in late 2014, claiming the comedian molested her at a party at the Playboy Mansion in 1974, when she was 15.

Huth's attorney Gloria Allred deposed Cosby in October last year. Allred said Tuesday that Superior Court Judge Craig Karlan granted a motion to compel Cosby to give another deposition.

Allred called the order a "complete vindication of our position."

She said she sought the order because Cosby did not answer all her questions during the first session.

"We are looking forward to Mr. Cosby's second deposition and hope that further motions to compel are not necessary, but we are prepared to file whatever is necessary and appropriate on behalf of our client," Allred said.

She said Karlan ordered Cosby to pay the cost of the deposition, which must be completed by Feb. 29.

Another woman who claimed that Cosby assaulted her in Los Angeles has dropped her federal claims against Cosby.

Chloe Goins, a model, claimed last year that Cosby drugged and molested her at the Playboy Mansion in 2008.

She voluntarily dismissed the lawsuit Tuesday without explanation, but left the door open to refile. Her attorney Tiffany Chung did not respond to a request for comment.

Cosby appeared for a pretrial hearing in Pennsylvania's Montgomery County Court on Tuesday, as he defends against a 2004 allegation of sexual assault.

More than 50 women have come forward with claims against the comedian, who denies the allegations.
