Girl Says Teacher-Murderer Assaulted Her

BALTIMORE (CN) - The Community Initiatives Academy hired a teacher despite his 1995 conviction for second-degree murder, while he was a teacher, and he proceeded to sexually harass and grope a minor student and threatened to kill her if she told anyone, the woman claims in City Court.

The Jane Doe plaintiff claims the Academy hired Charles Carroll in 2003 even though it "had actual knowledge of the Defendant Carroll's criminal history and that Carroll was convicted of second-degree murder in 1995, when he was then working as a teacher."

She claims Carroll sexually "groped (her) breasts and buttocks" at school, demanded that she call him at his home, and "repeatedly threatened that Plaintiff not tell anyone what had occurred or he would kill her."

She says Carroll "committed similar acts with two other students," and was criminally charged for it. She demands punitive damages for negligence and assault and battery.
