Girl Says Fake Chiropractor Molested Her

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (CN) - A medical supplies salesman misrepresented himself as a chiropractor to lure a 17-year-old girl to his office and sexually assault her, the girl claims in Rutherford County Court.

The girl, A.R., says defendant Oscar Brazzell was a frequent customer at the Sonic Drive-In where she worked. (Sonic is not involved in the complaint.)

A.R. says Brazzell has told other women that he is a chiropractor and that before he molested her, "there had been multiple similar offenses committed upon similarly situated members of the public at the business premises."

She claims Brazzell found out that she suffered from mid-back pain, told her he was a chiropractor and massage therapist, and recommended laser therapy.

She says she made an appointment to see him at his business, co-defendant Elite Bracing, where he inappropriately used an Avicenna Class 4 therapeutic laser and "Magnassager" on her.

She says he told her to undress and then assaulted her by touching her breasts and digitally penetrating her vagina. She says she was 17 at the time of the June 2008 assault.

The Avicenna laser alters biological tissue to promote healing and pain reduction, the suit states, but poses risks of laser radiation, tissue damage and blindness and requires the supervision of a licensed doctor.

A.R. demands punitive damages for misrepresentation, invasion of privacy, battery and other charges. She is represented by L. Gilbert Anglin and Steven Sager.
