ATLANTA — A federal court in Georgia refused to grant requests for a preliminary injunction in three suits challenging the state’s new political district maps. The court ruled plaintiffs are likely to prove that aspects of the redistricting plans are “unlawful” but an injunction wouldn’t be in the public’s interest at this point in the 2022 election schedule as changes to the maps now would likely “substantially disrupt the election process.”
