The Fifth Circuit ruled the University of Texas at Arlington properly dismissed gender discrimination claims brought by the estate of a student who was excluded from class after he allegedly harassed a gay classmate.

ARLINGTON, Texas – The Fifth Circuit ruled the University of Texas at Arlington properly dismissed gender discrimination claims brought by the estate of a student who was excluded from class after he allegedly harassed a gay classmate.

The disciplined student killed himself about two weeks after the confrontation with his classmate. The estate failed to prove that gender bias affected the university’s investigation of the incident.
