A federal court in Florida ruled in favor of a group of therapists challenging Tampa’s ordinance that banned health care providers from attempting to change the sexual orientation of minors. 

TAMPA, Fla. – A federal court in Florida ruled in favor of a group of therapists challenging Tampa’s ordinance that banned health care providers from attempting to change the sexual orientation of minors. 

The ordinance is pre-empted by Florida’s “regulatory scheme for health care regulation and discipline,” the court ruled.
