Geezer Bandit Is on a Run, FBI Says

SAN DIEGO (CN) - Who is the Geezer Bandit? The FBI seeks public help to identify an old dude who robbed six banks in San Diego County. The white man, believed to be 60 to 70 years old, has hit six banks in the past 5 months, the latest one Wednesday. A $16,000 reward has been offered for information leading to his arrest and conviction.

The San Diego police and sheriff and the FBI say the Geezer's spree began Aug. 28, 2009, at the US Bank in Santee. Then the Geezer is believed to have hit the San Diego National Bank in La Jolla on Sept. 12, the US Bank on Carmel Mountain Road in San Diego on Oct. 9, a Bank of America in Rancho Santa Fe on Oct. 26, and a Bank of America in La Jolla on Nov. 16. On Wednesday he struck again, robbing the San Diego National Bank on Rosecrans in San Diego.

Law enforcement agencies hung the moniker on him.

"The robber presented a demand note and displayed a silver and black semiautomatic weapon," the law enforcement agencies said in a statement.
