Gamer addiction claims tossed

CHICAGO — A mother lost her liability claims against Google and Apple in her lawsuit against them and other video game companies over her son’s video game addiction. She says her child suffers “withdrawal symptoms such as rage and physical outbursts” when she tries to curtail his gaming, but she did not specify that her son used Google or Apple’s app stores to download the games at issue. Therefore the court cannot say whether the online stores themselves were addictive for the child.
