Gaga, Kravitz Rock DNC Delegates in New Jersey

CAMDEN, N.J. (CN) — Pop superstars Lady Gaga and Lenny Kravitz pumped up Democratic National Convention delegates at an afternoon concert leading up to Hillary Clinton's anticipated acceptance speech on the other side of the Delaware River.

The concert was sponsored by Rep. Donald Norcross of New Jersey, who gave a brief speech on the strides in employment and enterprise made by the city of Camden. New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker also made an appearance, channeling the energy of his Monday night convention speech during his introduction of Lady Gaga.

"Camden is known as the comeback city!" Booker exclaimed before introducing Lady Gaga.

She took the stage dressed head to toe like Woody Guthrie, complete with a tucked-in button down shirt and cowboy hat, and gave Booker a big hug before taking her place behind the piano and opening her show with a folksy rendition of Guthrie's "This Land is Your Land."

Rocker Lenny Kravitz opened the show following his performance Wednesday night at the convention, telling delegates, "What we're here for is bigger than just singing songs. It's about love and respect and doing the right thing."

The delegates in attendance were relaxed in the aftermath of President Barrack Obama's rousing speech the night before, dancing and drinking beer.

Maryland Reps. Donna Edwards and Dutch Ruppersberger were also in attendance, but didn't speak.
