Fuze Drinks Are Snake Oil, Class Claims

LOS ANGELES (CN) - Fuze Beverage and its founder Lance Collins falsely claim that their products can fight cancer, reduce cholesterol, reduce weight, protect your kidneys, and so on, a class action claims in Superior Court.

Named plaintiff Laura Ceballos claims Collins, who "formulated the first line of Fuze beverages in the basement of his house," did so "without the benefit of any scientific research, testing or knowledge, as Collins has no scientific and/or health background."

For instance, the Ceballos says, Collins advertises that "Fuze Vitalize Blackberry Grape ... helps reinforce resistance to cold, influenza & infection of the kidneys, bladder and lungs."

Collins claims that "Fuze Oolong Tea" can reduce the risk "of developing cardiovascular disease and certain cancers," that "Fuze Refresh ... [is] known to improve circulation and reduce to the cholesterol level in the blood," and so on, the complaint states. Ceballos says all those claims are false.

Plaintiffs demand an injunction, restitution and costs. They are represented by Wayne Kreger with Milstein, Adelman & Kreger.
