Fukushima Class Action

The Ninth Circuit upheld the dismissal of United States service members’ claims against Tokyo Electric Power Company and General Electric alleging they were exposed to radiation from the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant. Japanese law required the dismissal of claims against GE and claims against TEPCO were dismissed on international comity grounds.  

SAN FRANCISCO —The Ninth Circuit upheld the dismissal of United States service members’ claims against Tokyo Electric Power Company and General Electric alleging they were exposed to radiation from the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant.
